July 26, 1989 – Standby Systems, Inc. opened the doors for business. At that time, the company employed two people, a service technician and an office employee, and was operating from home.
Jump to the present – Standby Systems has its own home and has a few more employees. We are a locally owned small business. As a small business, we can offer a more individualized service with our customers. This enables us to meet their needs more accurately, and in some cases establish a bond.
We are certain this is one reason we have been successful. We have a large customer base in the state of Virginia, and in the northern part of North Carolina.
We are members of the following:
Swam – Swam is a state program and the purpose is to enhance procurement opportunities and participate in state-funded projects.
EVA – EVA is a Virginia procurement marketplace where all of the state agencies, colleges, and universities as well as local government, post bidding opportunities for goods and services.
Ariba – Ariba is a marketplace where buyers and suppliers can find each other and do business within a single, networked platform.
